Surprising Missing Feature!
| I thought I had researched this unit pretty well before purchasing. The feature set is amazing for the price. In fact, for those of you like me that are using an audio system and/or DVD player more than just a couple of years old, check out what you may have been missing for cool features like: AV Sync (ability to perfectly synchronize audio/video); reading/playing of music from your USB connected MP3 player; rotation of images when viewing photos; quick display of time remaining in movie; easy access to hidden bonus material; dynamic range compression for enhanced late night listening when trying not to disturb others; and more. But here is the surprising, in fact down right incredible missing feature: No tone controls of any kind; no treble; no bass; no eq other than presets which only work in stereo mode and are just a guessing game since there is no indication anywhere, not even in the manual, as to what frequency adjustment curve is being applied. For TV or DVD surround sound viewing, forget it...you just can not boost the tweeters no matter how badly you may want to do so! It never even occurred to me to check for such a basic feature in an audio receiver! |
