piece of crap!
| i wish you had a zero stars rating. after reading other ratings by consumers on this product, i see that i'm not alone in my low opinion. i purchased this for over $[...]. that didn't even include a car cord, which i had to buy separately. soon after i bought it, i bought a cheap initial dvd player to use when i didn't want to worry about hurting the sony. the initial dvd player has been dropped, misused and used constantly. the initial still works like a dream. other than one of the times it was dropped it jammed the lid so it won't completely close. i only used the sony a few times before the warranty ran out and my luck with them doing anything about it was just like other reviews i have read. i am now looking for a new higher-end dvd player and you can bet it won't be a sony! |

Lousy product, Lousy company
| I purchased a Sony portable DVD player this time last year. Big mistake. It stopped working shortly after the 90 day warranty and Sony would do nothing but let me pay them for a repair/exchange. So I paid for an exchange + Shipping. Then the replacement they sent (same model) would not even turn on. Then they offer to let me pay to send that one back too (months have transpired because they do not send a replacement until they have logged in and assessed the one you send back). Meanwhile, I still have nothing. Sony charge me $500 for a lemon product and will not stand behind it. I will never purchase a Sony product again. |

Broken after 1 year
| Obviously, I hate this product because it broke after exactly 1 year. My friends got it for my wedding in April '04, and in April '05 the DC 9V input won't accept a charge. Therefore, I can't charge the battery and can't use anything to get it recharged, or even operational. Since it's been 1 year, the warranty is up (plus I don't have a receipt since it was a gift), and it will cost me $392 to send it to Sony and get it fixed. Unbelievable. Sony sucks. Oh yah, you can't hear it through headphones if birds are chirping or any noise is around (especially an airplane). |
