OK overall; DVD player frustrating
I wanted an inexpensive, quality DVD/VCR combo, and this has been a pretty good unit overall. The one major frustration has been it plays new DVDs fine, but any DVD we get from a video store or library (in other words, DVDs in less than perfect condition) it freezes up and all we can do is stop the DVD and start all over again. If this unit had error correction on the DVD player, it would be a great value.

Sanyo DVD/VCR a Good Buy
Sanyo has combined a very good DVD player with a very average VHS player in one unit and offers it at a very affordable price. I have two of these units (one upstairs and one down), and I am mostly pleased with their performance. The DVD player works fabulously. The only negative is the VHS player. On both of my units the picture on the VHS player has an annoying squiggly line at the top of the screen. No matter how much I try tracking the unit, I cannot get rid of the line. It seems to have a mind of its own, as it comes and goes, irritating the heck out of me. It also produces a mild audio static sound when it begins to vibrate.

Great player
Back in Decmember 2003, I decided it was time for a new DVD player. Not only would my Panasonic refuse to play some DVDs, but it didn't have a VCR, and all I had was a cheap, Funai VCR that had awful quality. So, as a fan of some earlier Sanyo products, I checked out the DVW-6000 (Amazon's model # is incorrect). This player so far has served me great.
