No complaints
| I purchased this item for a customer of mine. I did the installation and it worked flawlessly. Haven't heard back from the customer so all must be well. When you get in a bind with a receiver that has no phono input..this is the gadget. No need for more expensive types unless you're doing high quality re-recordings or something of that nature. |

Preamps are becoming a must-have item if you own a turntable these days...
| these preamps are pure gold, and are about as hard to find as pure gold these days too. back in the good old days (and i'm not that old), stereos came with a jack specifically for record players, and the jack had a preamp built in. but those are becoming more & more rare, which is why these preamps are necessary. most electronics retailers don't carry them anymore, either, which is a real tragedy. i went to radio shack, frys & magnolia audio (the only electronics stores in my area) and none of them carried turntable preamps (or hardly any turntable accessories at all, for that matter). radio shack said that i could order the preamp from their website, to the tune of $50. fortunately i did a google search and found the exact same item here on amazon for $20. basically, if you want to run a turntable through your home stereo or computer, you need this preamp. and this recoton one is a good product. i own 2 of them now, and they've never conked out or failed me in any way. |
