A non-starter and very difficult to get help
| This item new did not work. The Memorex customer support advised its return and had no suggestions to get it to work. It is no longer produced. I would advise against purchasing this DVD non-player. |

Great DVD Player.
| I don't know what the other reviews problem was, cause this thing just works. I bought it for the spare bedroom, but now it's replaced my $600+ Mitsubishi DVD player I got several years ago. I currently have 3 of this unit, each purchased during the past year at Target. I think I paid $59.99 for the first one and $49.99 for the other 2. I use one to travel with. It's small, so it fits nicely in my luggage. I've never had a problem with it and it's been handled by the airport luggage handlers on about 10 different trips. Also, this thing plays every format out there. It plays, DVD, SVCD, CD+G, MP3, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, and karioke disks. My local Target is out. I hope they get some more, cause I'll buy them for gifts. |

Best Little DVD Player Out There
I bought a Memorex E-Gear DVD player model MVD2030 at Target about 1 year ago. This is the best player I've seen. It can play virtually any format. CD audio, DVD, CDR MP3 disks, CDR MPG disks (for those of you into music videos), DVD MP3 disks both DVD+R and DVD-R. Yea, and it can play cdr's full of jpgs too. It can't play avi files but I haven't found anything else that can do this either. Need built in avi decoders as well as mp3 and mpg decoders. I've yet to see any other dvd player do all that. As far as reliability, I've had no problems and I even bought another one. I've bought 3 other dvd players, Sony DVP NS325, Apex AD703, and a Philips Vertical DVD590M. The only one of the others dvd players that comes close to comparing to the Memorex is the Philips. The Philips can play a wider range of bitrates when it comes to mp3s but doesn't do as well at rendering mpgs on the large screen of a television. I was suprised at how will some of the mpgs look on the tv.
