Perfectly good cheap dvd player
I got tired of trying to watch dvds on my playstation 2, so I was looking for a cheap dvd player that wasn't fancy. This astar fits the bill.

defective dvd player
The Dvd was defective I did not get the chance to see how it plays, however I liked the design. I sent it back in 2 days, I still have not received the refund.

Save your money and time!
Do not purchase this player. I thought this player was a great deal; it supposedly plays every format under the sun and has lots of outputs in the back. I received the first one and it played my VCDs as I had hoped it would, but it only played 4 out of 9 of the commercial DVDs I tried. The rest gave an error reading the disk or it thought it was some other format (DVD-R, etc.). Amazon was great and paid for my return shipping as I assumed I had a defective product. I got a new one and the same thing happened after 15 minutes of playing a DVD. I tried calling Astar's support during their posted hours and only got messages that no one was there. I'm going to send back the second one also (hoping Amazon pays for that as well). We bought a Sony instead.
