Good video, poor Audio
| I had a Philips 642 DVD player, that after 1.5 years of life gave up the ghost. I purchased this DVD player as a replacement. At first it seemed great. Nice and small (I don't mind top loading), it had Coaxial out, great. When I first hooked it up I didn't hook up the Coaxial audio, I just used the normal left/right RCA audio out. I noticed when watching DVD's the audio would drop out. I played around with the audio settings for the player, and it didn't seem to do anything. I then hooked up the Coaxial, and found the drops were no longer there, however the audio would randomly "pop" during playback. Drove me crazy, found myself waiting for the pop to come, rather than pay attention to the movie. Too bad, because otherwise this was a great player. |

Durabrand DVD player, Model DVD-1002
| A really good small DVD player. Has all the good video interfaces, composite, "S", and component. The one I have has performed well over a number of hours of testing. The price is a bit high--I have seen it for much less at Walmart. |
